Thinking of trying to fit in one more road trip in before the end of summer? Before you head off,  make this fun Car Technology Storage bag. You gotta have somewhere to put your ipod cord, cell phone charger, GPS and emergency power monkey. I used the Cricut cartridge called Summer Vacation to cut the central theme pieces of the truck and camper out of black paper to burn onto a YUDU screen.  I used the YUDU to print the design onto a black handled bag that I picked up at a thrift store. I cut Aqua felt to the shape of the handle and used rivets and E-6000 to attach it. For the zipper pull I created a charm out of shrink plastic. Enjoy making your own travel goodies this week and Happy Crafting xoxo LL

This Strawberry Coconut Cake made many people happy, including the one year old tasting cake for the first time in her life. Since the birthday girl can not yet talk, her older sister made the decision that the cake be strawberry. I got the cake recipe over at the Southern Plate. The frosting was my butter cream with coconut pressed into it. I tinted the coconut a hot pink for a fun effect. The red and white mushrooms were created out of fondant with my Cricut Cake using the Freshly Picked cartridge. The little white bunny was made by hand out of white fondant.  I made the bunting out of vintage pillow case fabric and backed each one with felt triangles. I sewed it onto pink and white twist Bakers Twine and then tied the bunting onto wooden skewers. Not only was it super cute – it tasted yummy too!

When I was in college I used to make painted floor cloths all the time but it had been years. I was inspired of late to get back at it. However, instead of hand painting the whole deal I painted just the background color and then used the Cricut to cut out a tea set from the Heritage Cartridge. I then used the YUDU to screen-print the tea set design onto my floor cloth! So Happy – I love it! This little yummy greets you at my front door as you enter my house. It is hard to tell in this shot but it is 5.5 feet long by 2.5 high. For a tutorial click here:  Tea Set Floor Cloth How To. Happy Crafting xoxo LL

My daughter was having a play date and wanted me to make her pink tiaras. One problem – her play date was a boy! So I suggested a pink tiara for her and a yellow wild thing crown for her playmate. For the Tiara I used my Gypsy to weld a design from the Tie The Knot Cartridge and a heart from the Create-A-Critter Cartridge and for the wild thing crown I used the Gypsy to weld the same crown from the Once Upon a Princess Cartridge over and over in a repeat pattern. I used my irock and some hot rocks on both crowns too! Both pre-schoolers played happily all afternoon. For a tutorial click here: How To make a Crown and TiaraHappy Crafting xoxo Lovely Lula

I thought I would share a couple of recent card designs I created. The two thank yous were in fact thank you notes and the bird card was part of a SWAP for Creative Escape for August 2010.

The state bird of AZ card was made using the 50 States Cartridge with my Cricut and the bird shape was cut from burnt umber cricut sticker vinyl and the AZ state shape was cut from Bazzill card stock.  The long No. 10 thank you was made by cutting the “thank you” out on my Cricut and the card stock was again Bazill, the flag paper was a scrap I had laying around and the tape is Japanese Washi Tape. For the pink card I cut a “thanks” again out with my Cricut, used Japanese Washi Tape, a Sharpie marker, a simple thank you stamp that I have had forever, I went around the “thanks” with a white out pen and then applied with Diamond Glaze. I finished it off by adding a foam craft heart and a hot rock.

Go make some cards now! xoxo Happy crafting Lovely Lula
