What do you do with hundreds of yards of soft grey fleece after it is taken down from an exhibition? Give it to other artists to make things. This fleece project came about after an exhibition at Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art called 90 Days Over 100° by Atherton and Keener, was taken down. This  is the result of the scraps re-styled into a functional rug.

Valentines Day fashion can be a lot of  fun, especially when made for the wee ones. I made this onesie for the smallest one. I used the Sweet Treats cartridge and my Cricut to cut out the super cute cupcake on black construction paper and I hand cut the LOVE letters also out of black construction paper used that to burn a YUDU screen. Then I print the onesie with brown ink and red ink using my YUDU which I so heart – super yum! Readers: you can also buy my screen-printed tees and onesies at MADE and a.ware

Found at a recent clothing swap held at Blueberry Deluxe Boutique in the Melrose District: 1 Marimekko Dress.

Dilemma: Short girls (i.e. The Thrifty Maker) can’t wear full body floral prints.

Solution: Restyle it! Marimekko dress meet scissors because your are about to have a makeover. This Marimekko dress retails for more than $100 and a Marimekko bag alone is about $89. (Check out Finn Style for proof.) Cost for this skirt and bag (free), around ¢25 for thread, ¢30 for binding tape and ¢60 for a silk ribbon. Total cost: $1.15.

I made a cute little chicky Christmas Stocking for the Smallest One (my 1 year old) using the Cricut with the Create-A-Critter cartridge for the birdy and the Tie the Knot cartridge for the crown. I pared these with wool felt and a few fun embellishments to make a cute little stocking. When my oldest daughter, The Short One,  was born four years ago I made one for her too so now it is a tradition. Oh what fun!
