Happy Independence Day! I knew I had to make a fashion goody to show some patriot pride! I found this great two-toned blue star scarf at a dollar store and my project was off and running. I used my Cricut and the Independence Day Cartridge and cut out the word Freedom and just clipped the “dom†off so it said “Freeâ€. Then I cut the stars from the Robotz Cartridge. All cut out of black card stock. I then laid those pieces of black card stock out on the YUDU and burned the design onto a screen. I printed the design onto a light yellow broad cloth, added some star eyelets and stitched it to my scarf! Viola! That’s it and I have a super fun goody to wear to a 4th of July BBQ today! To celebrate spring time I made a girls pillow-case dress, inspired by the book “Craft Challenge: Dozens of Ways to Repurpose a Pillowcase†by Suzanne J. E. Tourtillott
I started with a vintage pillow-case that I found at a thrift store for a buck ninety-nine. I added in a second vintage/ used pillow-case also purchased at a thrift store that had a print. I used the Cricut Forever Young cartridge and several of the flower dies for the Cuttlebug to make appliques. Â The full how to is located in the downloadable PDF below titled Pillow-case dress. This is a one day project not including the thrift shopping which I encourage you to do often because there are so many goodies to be had at thrift shops and yard sales.
The things you’ll need for this project include:    vintage/used pillow case(s), sewing machine, thread, scissors, Cricuit, Cuttlebug, chalk, no-sew tape, iron, fusible interfacing and Velcro or buttons.
Enjoy making this project and happy crafting! Lovely Lula

I used a plain, boring Easter hat that I found at the Target dollar section and created a vibrant, flower filled, hat that any youngster would be excited to wear this spring. My daughter, who is four, helped me put it all together and since this is her hat to wear I was so excited that she participated. Click on the How I did it PDF below to make one of your own!
