I LOVE the newest Imagine Cartridge called Notebook Doodles. Oh what fun I had.  I took an old pair of shoes, used white Gesso to cover them, allowed that to dry. I printed the little character designs onto iron on transfer paper. I then cut up the iron on paper and transferred it on to yellow cotton fabric and attached these patches to the shoe with glue. I then used Ranger Enamel Assents in black to outline the patches.

I have been going snow globe crazy this year! I have made several of them and there are more lined up awaiting my attention. I picked up all of the globes at thrift stores and glued them to bases also found at thrift stores. Some of them are ball canning jars. This whole idea was inspired by Anthroplogie check it out HERE, All the little goodies inside came from craft stores, dollar stores and cake decorating stores that I then painted white with craft paint. Love Love Love!

This week I took a boring, old, white mirror and treated it with silver leaf, mounted it to the wall and the painted a silver boarder around the outside. To finish it off I used my Cricut to cut Bazzill Basics Gun Powder Grey Glitter Paper shapes using the Accent Essentials Cartridge. I then attached the shapes to the silver painted frame on the wall with Aleene’s Tacky Tape.

While combing my local thrift store I found a small washed out rag rug and rag rugs always  make me think of my husband’s Grandmother who past not too long ago. We have several amazing rag rugs she made by hand, that I look at all the time.

For the rugs restyling, I started by dyeing it an aqua blueish green. My husbands Grandmother worked in a bakery as a doughnut maker. So I decided to use a couple of different pieces of fat quarters I had on hand to cut fabric appliques on the Cricut. I backed the fabric first with heat and bond so they would cut cleanly on the Cricut. I used the Sweet Treats Cartridge for the doughnuts and the Everyday Pop-Up Cards Cartridge for the coffee mug. I ironed the appliques on and then sewed the rug into a pillow shape and stuffed it with a pillow form I also grabbed at the thrift store. Sweet and simple with a personal story. Happy thrifting and Happy Grand Parents Day on September 11.

I had a great time visiting my local dollar store. I was immediately attracted to a turnstile filled with blue and white nautical looking scarves. I also found blue, white and red undies and thought hey why not make it a total project runway moment! So I used the fabric from the undies and the lace trim. I backed the fabric with wonder under and cut the snail on the Cricut using the Give A Hoot Cartridge and the house using the Heritage Cartridge.
